Volunteer Zambia is a unique international sport programme run by the Wallace Group – a collaboration between leading UK ‘sport’ universities – to primarily support and work with the leading Zambian sports NGO, Sport in Action.
The project is supported by alumni and donors through The Volunteer Zambia Foundation – established in 2008 to ensure that students, staff and visitors who’ve experienced Zambia first-hand have a way to continue making a difference and contributing when they return home.
Every year, around 50-60 students and staff volunteers from our universities in the UK join forces with colleagues at Sport in Action to deliver sustainable sport for young people through sport specific Community Hub Sites.
Since the Volunteer Zambia project began we have recruited over 1000 students and staff volunteers from across the Wallace Group universities. Find out how you can stay involved after you leave the project.
